Coming Wednesday: State Chief Economist Pearl Iboshi

May 11th, 2008 by Jeanne Mariani-Belding

In the past several weeks Hawaii has seen indicators of a rough economic road ahead. From drops tourism, to job losses, to foreclosures and more. All this on top of rising fuel costs, which hits Hawaii hard on several fronts, including higher overall costs on generally all of food and other imports.

What is the state doing to mitigate the economic downturn here in the islands? Joining us live on the Hot Seat Wednesday will be the state’s chief economist, Pearl Iboshi. She’ll answer your questions live during on our online chat from noon to 1 p.m.

To join the conversation, just watch for the new posting that will go up here at noon on Wednesday opening the chat – and post your questions directly there between noon and 1 p.m. Pearl will be answering the questions on-the-spot live during that hour.

If you can’t make the live session you can e-mail your questions in advance to me at jmbelding@honoluluadvertiser.com and I’ll try to get in as many as I can in between the live posts.

See you Wednesday, with the state’s chief economist Pearl Iboshi, on The Hot Seat.
